Collection: Christiane Ruel

Native of  Longueuil, Quebec, Christiane Ruel moved to Ontario in 1988, for her Nursing and artistic career. Schooling with the Ottawa school of Art under the guidance of Blair Sharpe, and cello studies with the royal Conservatory of music, Christiane develops a deep love for geometric abstraction, fluid art and colour theory. She returns to the local art scene after a pause.

"Always inspired by colour theory, science and my mentor Blair Sharpe, I'm the one scribbling ideas everywhere. Guided by my 2 loves, abstract art and the Sonoran desert, I'm on a quest for a process that will intrigue and hopefully captivate my audience. My mediums of choice are ink, markers, pastels, my favorite supports are yupo and Ampersand plates, colour theory and the hidden messages always present in my canvases. As an orchestral cellist, my paintings are always accompanied by classical music. It brings them to life! My motto: life is short, use all your pencils."
